this is probably the highest point of the love story.... at least the version of it that existed in my head.
"new era" is about that feeling when being close to someone makes everything seem bigger and smaller at the same time. suddenly something as simple as getting two beers, holding hands or lying on someone's chest can feel as important as nature, galaxies and the whole universe.
i really love how the music and the video became one here. the character is walking across a glacier, and you can actually hear the ice and the footsteps inside the song. those sounds aren't just added decoration.... they are part of the place where the story exists.
and by the end, the fantasy reaches its peak. all those different vocal layers start coming together while the character keeps repeating that with this person he can fly high without being afraid of falling.
for a few minutes, there is no impossible love. no different sexual orientation, no future to worry about.... just this completely imagined new era where everything works.
