"never nuzzle" is about being physically close to someone while knowing that the relationship you imagined with them is still completely out of reach. i could be looking at him, talking to him, sitting beside him.... and at the same time writing an entirely different story inside my head.
 
there is still attraction everywhere in the song, but now it comes with an answer i don’t really want to hear. i keep suggesting different paths, different possibilities, different versions of us.... and the response is always the same: never, we’ll be.
 
the title is also only half of the idea.
 
"never nuzzle" connects directly to the final chapter of the album, "nor be a bro". together, they become "never nuzzle nor be a bro".... we can’t be lovers, but eventually we can’t even remain friends.
 
at this point in the story, i don’t fully know that yet. but the ending is already hiding inside the title.
