sometimes making art online feels like trying to speak through a system that only understands categories, trends and patterns.
 
i was putting so much work into songs and videos, but online everything seemed to need a recognizable look, the right sound, the right face, the right niche. and when something didn’t travel very far, it was easy to start questioning myself.... maybe it was my voice, my appearance, my personality, my weirdness.
 
but "sorry, the algorithm won’t push" is really about resisting that pressure. i don’t want to constantly reshape myself into whatever is currently clickable just so a platform understands what to do with me. art can be strange, inconsistent, personal and difficult to categorize.... that is part of what makes it mine.
 
the title sounds almost like an automated rejection message.... "sorry, the algorithm won’t push." nobody actually tells you no. your work simply stops travelling. so you refresh, scroll, try again.... while remembering that being difficult for an algorithm to categorize doesn’t mean the work has no value.
