some promises sound comforting when you are younger.... study hard, get a good job, behave, work hard, and eventually everything will fall into place.
 
i followed that logic for years. i studied, worked, tried to be responsible, tried to build a stable life.... and then adulthood arrived with bills, expensive housing, less free time and this constant feeling that the reward we were promised somehow changed while we were busy chasing it.
 
"spoon-fed lies" is about that disappointment. not because my parents were trying to deceive me.... they were repeating the same formula they had been given. but the world changed. now the lie is not only "work hard and everything will come".... it is also "if you can’t live your dream, simulate it." where’s the house? the car? the trip to iceland i dreamed of so i could film my music videos there? instead, i’m told to travel through a headset, through augmented reality.... to imagine freedom instead of actually living it.
 
that is why the music video matters so much to me. iceland is one of my dream places to film, and i have never been. i would love to go there for real one day.... but after working so hard, i still could not afford the time or the trip, so i used ai to place myself there. and yes, that contradiction is part of the point. using ai to criticize a world that offers artificial versions of our dreams instead of making real life more reachable.... that is also art.

and not follow your call

pursued my calling, pursued it again
