"mes décisions" is about the frustration of realizing that some of the choices you make for love can eventually become the things that hurt you.
 
the relationship is falling apart, and instead of the uncertainty and softness of the previous songs, this time i was angry. i’m questioning my choices, the sacrifices i made, the plane tickets, the memories and why i kept hoping something would become more than it actually did.
 
even the way i sing changes. i used a different vocal technique and almost a different personality in my voice because i wanted the anger and frustration to be heard, not just explained in the lyrics.
 
and then, randomly.... french lol.
 
michael was french canadian, i was completely addicted to québécois music at the time, and i wanted to practice my french and québécois accent. so somehow the last song of "2016, life" became a french song about decisions. it was a spontaneous choice, but i’m really happy i did it because now that exact moment of my life, including the language i was learning and the music i was listening to, is permanently inside the album.
 
originally shared only with friends and family on october 27, 2017, this song was officially released under CANTIBEALL years later as part of the surprise release of "2016, life".
