this story started online.... and then suddenly became very real.
we met on the internet, and not long after that i got on a bus to meet him in a small town. things moved pretty fast from there.... emotionally, physically, all of it hahaha. there was that exciting feeling that maybe this random person from another country could actually become part of my life.
after being together physically, a lot of the relationship had to continue through our phones. messages, calls, waking up to a text.... all those tiny digital things became ways of feeling close when we couldn't actually be in the same place.
that is where "Text at Dawn" comes from. waking up and seeing his name on my phone could make the distance feel smaller for a moment. the song is full of little images from the beginning of the relationship.... the bus where we first met, ginger tea, climbing, biking, learning each other's habits and slowly feeling like somebody had somehow been given your user guide.
there was already so much hope in it. we had met, we had been together, and now we were trying to understand how something physical could survive when it became digital again.
