sometimes love is the easy part.... logistics are the nightmare.
by this point, distance had become more than just missing each other. there was an actual border between us, and suddenly being together involved jobs, visas, work permits and legal rules.... systems that really do not care how much two people love each other.
we searched for a door in every wall, hoping one of them might open for max. we followed paper trails, looked for jobs and chased different possibilities, while something that felt so simple emotionally became ridiculously complicated on paper. he was afraid there might simply be no way for us to live in the same place, but i kept believing we would find one.
the title comes from "leave no stone unturned".... trying every possible option until you find an answer. if one route was blocked, we would turn another stone. then another. visas, jobs, borders, whatever. there is something almost stubbornly optimistic about the song.... maybe love cannot magically erase a border, but at that moment i really believed it could keep us searching until we found a way through.
released on october 25, 2024, "Turn All Stones" became the fourth song of the "2019, max" audiovisual story.

4. Turn All Stones
If you’re feeling hopeless like there ain’t no other way
And you’re feeling like the world won’t give us a chance
If you’re feeling we are spinning everywhere like dancers
I know right away what the answer is…
I’m aware there is a border, an invisible line
And we have to follow all the legal standards
I am sure that our freedom is a question of manner
I know right away what the answer is
It’s our love! Our love
Will find what we yearn
It’s our love! Our love
that helps our fire burn
and it’s our love! Our love
Will find what we search
We will leave, we WILL leave no stone
no stone unturned!
If you don’t see a resolution, you’re just a little scared
Remember broken systems need a big revolution
If you feel we need some fuel to go to the next chapter
I know right away what the answer is
It’s our love! Our love
Will find what we yearn
It’s our love! Our love
that helps our fire burn
and it’s our love! Our love
Will find what we search
We will leave, we WILL leave no stone
no stone unturned!
It’s our love! Our love
Will find what we yearn
It’s our love! Our love
that helps our fire burn
and it’s our love! Our love
Will find what we search
We will leave, we WILL leave no stone
no stone unturned!
