when someone is only around for a few days, suddenly every tiny detail becomes important.
phil was in town for a short time, so i wanted to hold on to everything.... taking him back to the hotel after work, the smell of essential oils on his white t-shirt, hearing his accent, sleeping beside him, kissing him in a way that made him laugh.
in a long distance relationship, moments can feel a bit like shooting stars.... you never really know when they are going to happen, but when they do, you want them to stay forever. that is what makes this song so special to me. nothing huge really happens.... it is just a collection of little moments that felt enormous because i knew they were temporary.
distance and time can become enemies if you forget to be grateful for what is happening right now. this song is basically my attempt to preserve that present moment.... to stop time for a little while before the silence came back.
the title comes from that urgency too. only this week. only these few days. only this chance to be close before distance becomes part of the story again.
and underneath all that happiness, i already knew what would come after.... the silence he would leave behind when he left town.
